  35. Have you ever tried looking for a letter you wrote six months ago
  36. but could not find the diskette you stored the file on?  Or, do
  37. you just have so many disks lying around you can not seem to keep
  38. track of them all?

  40. CatMan-DO!: A management tool to help you keep track of all your
  41. files stored on diskettes.  CatMan will allow you to catalog and
  42. cross-reference data files, programs, or any other files you
  43. have.
  44.  
  45. How often have your tried to cram all the file names onto the
  46. diskette label? Instead, mark the diskette with the same
  47. identifier you entered into the Label field. Now, CatMan can
  48. track the files by the Label.
  49.  
  50. The automatic Bulk Load feature is the quickest method to build
  51. your database.  Simply pop in a diskette, provide the label name
  52. and hit the enter key.

  54. Files  listed in CatMan can be identified by:
  55.  
  56.      File Name  the DOS file
  57.    Where It Is  a directory path or disk location
  58.   Package Name  an application name
  59.          Label  a personalized identifier
  60.     Categories  up to 6 cross-reference words

  62. The Description in CatMan provides an open text area for each
  63. entry.  This area is useful for any notes or comments you may
  64. have about the file. For example, a software librarian may use
  65. this area to hold a copy of the FILE_ID.DIZ or track who has
  66. borrowed it.

  68. For those who prefer printed material, CatMan can print a listing
  69. by Label, File Name or Package Name to keep in a notebook.
  70.  
  71. CatMan can also compare filenames across many disks to uncover
  72. duplicates.  From this you can determine the existence of older
  73. data and older versions of programs. Then, you can go back and
  74. delete those old files and reclaim previously unusable disk space
  75. or even entire diskettes.

  78. and organized in no time.  And, once you have loaded all your
  79. information, the time you save finding what you need will be

  109. limitation and maintains all database entries.

  286. CatMan-DO! is a DOS based program and can be removed from your
  287. hard drive using the standard DOS command: deltree
  288.  
  289. If C:\CATMANDO is the path where CatMan-DO! resides, then:

  293. This command will delete all files and sub-directories found in
  294. the sub-directory CATMANDO as well as remove the sub-directory
  295. itself.
